Please don't rely on the internet to find friends, the chances of really finding a REAL person is very slim. People usually act differently online than what they usually do in real life.
You can use the internet like a phonebook to find people, but only start to get to know them when you meet them in real life. And in order to protect yourself, really get close with them (into their lives) so that you know they are REAL.

I know exaclty what u should do. Go to www.google.com and type in 'e-pals' then click on like the first icon think it is. there they have profiles of a bunch of people. choose one or more and then write to the e-mail address u see on there. u will have a good online freind in a little bit.

well a great way to see if your friends are online is to download yahoo messenger.... you have to get all your friends email addresses and add them to the list, then it willl show if your friends are online or offline and you can chat with them.... yahoo messenger can also take you to the chat rooms to find other friends!!!!
