As in physically smashed? No. Defragmenter is a program that shifts files around the computer to keep them more organized and allow the computer to run more quickly and efficiently. You need a new harddrive.

Yes. Defragmenter will still work, just not on your smashed hard drive.

ok, if your hard drive blew up, then all the programs (defragmenter included) will have exploded with it, as they are stored magnetically on disks in the hard drive, thus, if the hard drive cannot turn on (and mechanical parts are broken) all data is lost.

yes just make sure you put enough super glue in the cd-rom drive to keep it all together.
