1. Enjoy your high school years.
2. Get to know a lot of people.
3. Take part in as many school activities as possible for the experience.
4. Be outlandish and don't be cookie cutter material (like everyone else).
5. Find out early what it really is you want to be in life and start the pursuit now.
6. Try to learn all you can and achieve the best grades possible.
7. This is not outlandish, but will really help you, seek true wisdom. You will be so thankful for it.

You won't be able to do everything you want, but make the best of what you can. Remember that you are going to be responsible for it all.

You will be 30 in no time (trust me; time goes by fast). Don't be the 'wanna-be at your high school reunions; be the 'I am'! You don't want to regret not taking advantage of your youth. Every one of us could have done much better had we put forth the effort and taken advantage of the opportunities.

This isn't crazy, but I regret not saving any money. I worked from my soph to senior years and with every paycheck I would go to the mall and buy new clothes, shoes, makeup, etc. When I went to college, my car broke down (transmission) and I didn't have the $1500 to fix it so I had to save up for months and went without a car for awhile.

Other than that...I don't have many regrets. Just spend a lot of time with friends because it's not usually the same after high school once everyone goes their separate ways. Don't burn any bridges and try not to break too many hearts. Make sure that you're nice to everyone so later when everyone is in their 20's and your name comes up they'll say "Remember how nice so and so was? I wonder what they're up to?" instead of "Remember what an a** that person was? I hated them!" It happens. Everyone still gossips even after college. Make sure everyone has only good memories of you.

Never really gotten out that much at your age (am 29 now). I was restricted to doing a lot things. The friends I had were not into drugs, alcohol or anything like that. They were not teenage parents or were arrested or anything like that. They were good people.
Personally, I wish I would have gone out with my friends more to the bowling alley, to the movies more, to Manhattan and learn how to ice skate (live in Jersey, so, the train was only 45 minutes to get there). You know, on the weekends or, on the week we were out for the holidays.
That is what I would have done. Plan ahead.
I hope I gave you some suggestions.

I'm 17 and I wish that I had had more fun. People are gonna tell you to study and I fully agree that that is very important for a good life in the future, but don't forget that you are a teen and there are things that are you need to do as a teen. You need to rebel and have fun, but don't take it to far. Just be safe and enjoy everything you do to the fullest.

I would have liked to have participated in HS activities more....stepped outside my shell......maybe joined the track team, danced in the plays and such. I wish I had the money for ballet, I was made for it........and I wish even just one guy actually in HS would have asked me out......would have been nice to kiss a guy my age before I was 37....lol, always got stuck dating older ones because the guys in high school only watched........and there was that one teacher I would have loved to have gone out with.....

well...there is so much that i would wish i would have done.
my parents went not in my life...so i was on my own to make choices for me. i wish i would have studied more...and worked on academics!! i actually enjoy it(now)...and never knew it cuz i never tried.
i also wish i was a sports team...anything that was a team. i have NEVER been on a "team" before...even if i wouldn't have made it..i wish i would have tried out for ANYTHING...including cheer leading! i wish i would have put my shyness aside and talked to people....now that i am grown i do, but as a teen it scared me to death. i wish i would have been able to allow myself to be open...look other kids in the eye and talk to them...and make tons of friends.
i wish i would have tried to find others like me and tell them it is ok...life is not so bad....lets go have some fun. i spent too many friday nights home alone. i wish i would have asked a guy out! instead of hoping they would notice me...which by the way....they never did! LOL
i wish i would have talk to my guidence counseler....(and learned how to spell! LOL)...seriously...i wish i would have really talked to my teachers in school and have them help me choose a direction for college and the classes that i would liked to have studied.
i wish i would have found a church....i didn't have that growing up, that would have been nice! i wish i would have spent a spring break doing ANYTHING...other than staying at home.
i wish i would have gone to the prom....or any school dance.....i wish i had bought cool clothes and tight jeans!! i wish i had worn make up to school! i wish i had a good camera and taken tons of pictures of my scohol mates..some who are no longer here. i wish i had gotten a job and bought a car. i would have liked to work at a childrens camp in the summer. i wish i never would have stood back in the shadows afraid to be noticed...it could have been me on stage as Annie singing "Tomorrow", but i didn't even try...so i will never know. that can never change! see it, try it and love the experience of being there...don't be afraid to try or be seen trying. you never know what will happen if you do!! you never know how your life will change...or whose life you could change, just by you being there...experiencing your wonderful teen age years.
they are special...and they are few. when they are gone- they are gone. good luck.
i know that you will do just fine!
((((hugs))))

I regret nothing...you learn from all your mistakes and it takes mistakes to make you a better person. I have learned from all the times I fell on my face and to this day I think back and laugh but wouldn't change a moment of it because what we do shapes us into who we are!!

i had a good childhood, so also my teenage years were good. To be honest, i wish i studied harder, cause i always thought it doesnt matter, but now i can see it does. do what you feel like doing, but dont do anything you dont agree with, just to be liked. just be yourself.

I wish that I had spent more time studying and less worrying about what others thought about me.
