They're playing and remember you have only had them for a day so this might not carry on, they are just settling in! When they pass each other they are just saying "hello!" or "are you ok?" and basically just chatting. Don't be too worried when they are talking, the time to be worried is when all of a sudden they go completely silent and stiff (then there might be something wrong).
The wrustling at night is probably them flatting the hay (or wood shavings) down in their bed area because in the wild they would have to flatten the grass down to sleep and they still carry them instincts with them.
Oh and xmas clown DO NOT keep rabbits and guinea pigs together once my bunny reached sexual maturity he started boxing the guinea pigs (he now has his own big 'palace'). The chasing isn't just playing you know!

Guinea Pigs move about quite a lot, and because they move in short, sharp bursts, it sounds louder and is obviously more noticeable than if they were moving around slowly.
The sounds they make, if they are like a grunting or squeaky grunt, are perfectly normal. They are very social animals and prefer to be with their own kind, and they show this through chattering to eachother. They are talking to eachother, communicating exactly how we do, by noises and body language. Guinea Pigs make great pets and when they get to know you, they will start to chatter to you as well. Hope this helps

I have two female guinea pigs that I keep in my bedroom. Mine are usually quiet at night except when they are thirsty and bang their water bottle around. I have had them 3 years and they know when it is time to eat. They squeak like crazy when it's mealtime.
Probably your guinea pigs will settle down when they are used to their new surroundings. When someone babysits mine if I go away,
they tell me the cavies are restless for the first few days. One of mine was pregnant when I got her but the babies were inbred. One lived for a year. Generally they squeak loudly when upset.

It makes me nuts that the puppy shops industry those balls for cavies. basically toss it interior the trash. The curve of the ball places too large a rigidity on your cavy's backbone no longer even pointing out the shown fact that the ventilation in those issues is terrible. %pipes like reported above, containers, any form of tunnel is a large toy to them. if your cavy's run is sufficiently large then he gets various workout working in the time of the tubes. provide him playtime out of the run in a secure area, yet be absolute to video demonstrate him so he would not get into something. this is going to help him bond closer to you besides.

They love to do laps in their cage for fun. That's probably the rustling you're hearing. As for the sounds, they're just socialising. What type of sounds are they making? Each one means something different, just like people.

Cavies are active at night so that is what your hearing. They are sitting still during the day for 2 reasons
1 they are asleep NB usually sleep with eyes open
2 they haven't settled yet so stay still to stay safe.
so give them lots of cuddles and you will see them calm down and make you their slave
good luck

the rustling is just the guiea pigs making themselves comfortable.
as for the daytime this is just normal guinea pig behaviour
it's nothing to worry about unless they are doing something strange.

Ah they are soooo cute and such sociable creatures. Maybe they are making more cavies at night and discussing names and best schools for them during the day?
