Aspirin in regular dose is not to be taken during pregnancy. It is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage. And some researchers believe that taking aspirin at adult doses during pregnancy might affect the baby's growth and may slightly increase the risk of a placental abruption. Taking full-dose aspirin later in pregnancy might also delay labor and increase the risk of heart and related lung problems in your newborn and bleeding complications for you and your baby.
However, if you're already taking a prescribed dose of aspirin for a specific condition, you may need to continue taking it during pregnancy. Be sure to check with your healthcare provider. Most experts believe low-dose aspirin therapy is safe during pregnancy. It is said that women at high risk for preeclampsia (including women with chronic hypertension, severe diabetes, or kidney disease, or who had severe preeclampsia in a prior pregnancy) may benefit from low-dose aspirin therapy, but again be sure to follow doctor's advise strictly.
If just for analgesic purposes acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Paracetamol are known to be safe during pregnancy. So unless your healthcare provider prescribes it, you should avoid taking aspirin altogether, as well as other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen sodium (Aleve), and ketoprofen (Orudis), which can have similar effects.

any dose of aspirin is a blood thinner, this can be good in small doses to encourage a healthy placenta, the only complication that can arise from taking aspirin while you are pregnant is if you have to have a c section it can cause excess bleeding or make it difficult to stop bleeding. Most doctors will want you to stop taking aspirin and take Tylenol

Actually, some doctors tell their high-risk pregnant patients to take one baby aspirin a day to help prevent miscarriage (It can keep blood clots from forming in the placenta) But that is a very low dose - 81mg. If you take higher doses often you can increase your risk of bleeding (Aspirin thins blood, which is why it can prevent clots) Generally speaking it's safer to just take Tylenol.

NO, but you can take Tylenol (extra strength is ok too). Asprin can cause birth defects. Ask your Dr. and they'll give you a list of ok meds. They should also give you a list of foods to avoid such as raw eggs, raw fish, etc.

Tylenol is safe during pregnancy. Aspirin is not considered to be safe. It sometimes increases the risk of miscarriage during early pregnancy. A high dose Aspirin could affect baby's growth. Better safe than sorry. Asking your doctor is always helpful.

Tylenol yes...ASPIRIN NO! Aspirin has a blood thinning agent in it. Not good for baby. Get a list of meds you can and can't take from your doctor...or go online and do a search on pregnancy and medications. Always consult your doc before taking ANYTHING!

NO. I would ask your Dr. There are certain medications that a pregnant woman should NEVER take. I know Tylenol is ok.

Doctors usually reccomend you not take aspirin or advil or any of those types of medications. It is okay to take tylenol or sudophed. As with any medicines it is best to ask your doctor.
