Is it possible to sleep with earphones on and learn something from a disc or tape over night...not the whole thing but will most of the info go into your head?
if it is possible can you show me a web sight that explains it or tell me how it was proven somehow?

I have not heard about that before. When we sleep, parts of our brain shuts down so it could rejuvenate. During sleep, we go through cycles of deep sleep where there is little brain activity and active sleep where the brain get a little excited. When people sleep at least 8 hours (maybe less), they are able to go through enough cycles that our brain functions better. For example, with enough sleep they may be able to learn more because their brains are better able to function e.g. your memory is better, the electrical "circuits" in your brain send messages faster, etc. So I guess it's best to get enough sleep so you could learn more efficiently the next day!

My father was given tapes to stop smoking. He was told to play them every night before he fell asleep. This came from a doctor person for quitting smoking.
So there must be some documentation on it in the medical community? Self hypnoses or something rather...

The problem is that learning that way will be pointless, because it would be subconscious learning(which your brain does all the time anyways) but it is useless to you conscious mind. Very unlikely that you would be able to remember much of what you learn in that way, kind of like having a dream and forgetting it. You might be able to use a journal to remember your dreams better, but I doubt you would be able to retrieve subconscious learning in that way.

Everyone's different. You have little to lose by giving it a try. If it works for you stick with it. If it doesn't, you've learned something.
It doesn't work for you! Give it a whirl and see what happens.

I would think so... because you can have a lucid dream and do whatever you want in it...
so, being able to do whatever you want, you should be able to learn too =p

go to www.ld4all.com/

and you will see some information on lucid dreaming
