There are a lot of factors with this. First off it could be the lighting. If you put on makeup in a natural light then you are more likely to have great make up in pictures as well. Sometimes when you apply your make up in a darker or lighter light you apply too much or too less which shows in pictures, but not in the mirror. Other factors such as what you did between the time you got ready and the picture could change your pictures. As well as how you are smiling, posing, and the angles the pictures are being taken at. Something else I have noticed is that you look different to yourself in the mirror than how people see you. For instance, take another mirror and angle it so that when you look at it with another mirror infront of you your reflection is flipped (which is the actual way people see you) I noticed that when I did this it made my hair look completely different, my nose slightly different, as well as other shapes on my face. Sounds really crazy, but I swear this is true. Just seeing yourself the way others see you can help when it comes to making those pictures better!

When I look at myself in the mirror, it's when I've just finished getting ready. All of my hair is in place, my outfit's clean and really cute, my shoes are semi-new, and my lip gloss has been applied correctly. Then I decide to take a picture, so I run downstairs to my dad and decide to sip some water. That's a big mistake, because then my lip gloss has come off somewhat and some of hair has become out of place. My shirt has gotten a little wrinkled and now my shoes are a little dirty. So we race back upstairs and Dad prepaires the camera. He takes a picture and it's not my best. The end, hope you enjoyed the story!

Taking a picture has a lot to do with whether or not you know how to pose...open your eyes, hold your smile, how to tilt your face and look at the camera...plus the flash and quality of the camera has a lot to do with it. It can be either the model or the photographer (or both) that makes the pic "not your best".

I know what you mean, I don't care if you don't believe me because I know it was true - but on the 9th of December I was on tv on I won a portable dvd player and then I had my photo with Matt Willis and I thought I looked absoloutley great in the mirror in the bathroom and on tv but in the photo I suppose I looked alright but let me tell you my friend looked like she was cut out of cardboard!

because there are so many factors...the person who takes the photograph(it's never the model's fault..it's always the photographer's), the lightning, the angle and of course...the way u feel...u want to look great and because of that u change ur state of mind so u are not natural and therefore different. so try to act natural and u'll look in the mirror again:)

My dad told me it had something to do with the camera. Technical difficulty maybe? That's why most people say that when taking pictures, the people look a bit chubbier.

Because when you look at yourself in the mirror then you know how you are posing but when you take a picture, you don't know how you look, so your smile might look different.

God created us and our eyes are the best...They show what we are...But the camera is created by man...It is not perfect..It can't see like our eyes.....It can't capture everything...Don't worry about how you look in a photograph...If u look good to ur eyes in the mirror...Then you are o.k....Be Happy
