First, remove the valet key by sliding the button and pulling. If you look in the notch where the valet key normally sits, you'll see a little ridge about 1/8" below the top of the key, just below the slide lock. Use a small screwdriver to push this in, while pulling up on the center part of the key. The center part of the key will slide up and out. There are two batteries inside, make sure you get the polarity correct.
If you're really having trouble, take it to the dealer. They will sometimes change the batteries for free.

you have to pry open the casing and then the battery compartment should be visible. It may be intergrated int he pcb (chip board).
