Ask the guests to bring food and drinks. Improvise, blast music from an iPod player, or if someone you know is a DJ, invite them and ask them to bring their equiptment. The key to a great party is just making sure everyone is letting loose and having a good time. My friends tell me I throw the best parties, and I don't even have alcohol at them. Get people dancing and get loud and crazy. This could be a great way to make some friends. Hide the antiques, and if you don't want people getting too roantic, lock up the bedrooms. You're going to have a HUGE mess to clean up afterwards, but it'll be worth it.

That is unbelievably rude as far as I`m concerned!!!
How well do you know these people renovating their house?
That reminds me when I went to visit my boyfriend`s late friend`s old lady for the very first time back in January this year (2006) and as soon as my boyfriend and I arrived at her house where we were going to stay for a few days, she asked us to clean her filthy pigsty with a deep-cleaning vacuum cleaner from Home Depot, can you believe this?!?
Let`s just say we did it to help her out because she`s kinda handicapped now due to her morbid obesity (400 lbs & using a walker!) but I`ll never forget how rude it was of her to even ask us to do such a thing for her in the first place, especially when you meet someone for the very first time and know absolutely nothing about them, besides their first name!!!
Needless to say, we never became friends because first impressions last a lifetime!
P.S. Stay away from all household cleaning equipment!!!
