I would think it pretty difficult to keep a pierced ear from your parents, if they ever really look at you. And you can be certain your sister will tattle as soon as she catches on. I just think it's a real bad deal to try to deceive your folks and then expect them to trust you later on.
But if you get an ear pierced, you will have to keep the earring in at least 6-8 hours a day or the hole will close and you'll be running a risk of infection if you poke it open yourself. I do that now, but I've had pierced ears for 40 years or more, and they still get sore, and sometimes get infected. You can put a cotton ball soaked in alcohol, or an alcohol pad over the hole when you take the earring out. Maybe leave them in at night and take them out during the day when family and friends can see the earring. It can take up to 2 months for the hole to stay open after you remove the earring to clean it and your ear.
Good luck!

The earring needs to stay put for *at least* 3-4 weeks, depending on how quickly you heal. You will irritate the scar tissue and risk infection as well as prolong the healing period if you remove it, and could end up with some really bad scarring. Trying to put an earring through a new hole will also hust like a MF.
Your parents will also be able to tell because your earlobe will be red and irritated and the hole will be visible.

ok first off let me just tell you i went through something similar except i wanted to get my nose pierced. I would reccomend just not getting t untill oyu move out cvause that way its one less argument and its so depressing having to hid stuff that can be so obvious.
try really really really small earing. maybe using one that looks like a nose earing cause they have really tiny one that are barely noticable
but if you are going to do it then first off you SHOULD leave it in for most of the day like at school and put it back on before you go to sleep. But i PROMISE IT WILL HURT. You have to do it everyday. but this will make it swell up and that will be noticible cause it will be red. Peroxide works better that alcohol. DO NOT PUT MAKE UP ANYWHERE NEAR IT!! It will infect it.
so as you can see like i said before your best bet is just to wait. all taht sneaking around and crap is tiring ans if they find out the yelling, getting grounded, and not being trusted is so not even worht it. I had to learn the hard way which is why i'm telling oyu
and oyur probably thinking oh but i won't be stupid and get caught i swera to i thought that too. we all tdo!!
hpe that helped!

An ear is something pretty hard to cover up. Yes, an earring is needed to be in place for six weeks following piercing. Reason, is that the body naturally wants to 'heal and repair ' itself and will naturally want to close up the piercing hole...the only way to keep that from happening is to keep a earring in the pierced hole for 6 weeks...and keep it clean as it really is a 'wound' to the skin. Important to keep that ' wound ' clean while healing. As far as your parents...that's an entire other issue and not what you asked of. Good luck with this one.

Alcohol helps disinfect the piercing, keeping germs out and reducing swelling. They tell you to keep it in for about a month before switching earings. Otherwise the piercing tends to close, although i doubt that it would close in a day, ud probably be able to force fit it back in after taking it out, although it might be painful.

gere's the bottom line, you cant pull it off..... i mean, you can try.... but, you will get caught and if your parents are like that, you may get in trouble too, lol. but, yeh, you have to put alcohol or a solution bought on it to keep it from getting infected. i had mine pierced at clairs shop and they gave me a solution there... all it really is is just alcohol tho, lol. but, some advice, even if you clean it out and stuff, it can still get infected.... mine did overnight... and i thought the top fell out, and i pull the whole rod out of the back of my ear.... it scabbed over at night and stuff, and yeh, not pretty. and, you would really need to leave it in all the time..... because, if you dont have osmething in there for the first few months, it will heal up pretty fast.... so, thats another reason i dont think you could pull it off.... and, you dont have to worry about it swelling up.... even when its infected it dont neccesarily swell.... you just gotta keep it clean. and, i would totally advise against this idea, because it prolly wont even work if you dont get caught cause your ear will heal.... but, if you are still gonna try it, you would have to wear your earring at night.... or, acctually, it would be a stud or something, but still. you would have to wear it at night to keep it open, and if you dont do that, it will heal shut. then, during the day when home form school, take it out, and stuff. then, during school, keep it in. also, in the morning, clean it. then, when your home from school and take it out, clean it really really well and do the make up thing. then, clean it atleast once more before you go to bed, and if you have to put make up on after you clean it that time too........ good luck.
oh, and there is nothing immature about hiding it either..... it just means you dont agree with your parents but know that they can kick your *** out, lol. if you want an earpiercing and you think this will work, go for it. but, if you get caught, just tell your parents to **** off..... it prolly wont work, and youll prolly get in trouble, but who knows, lol. if you do get caught tho, just agree to take it out and just dont back talk them or anything..... that way they give you a less punishment than if you did back talk, and then maybe they start to trust you sooner so you can try again, lol. goodluck.

you need to keep the same earing in for 6 week or your ears could get infected, turn them every-so-often to help them heal nicely and clean the regularly
