Reps won't sit back, so the question is moot. There will be no draft.

There is no way a draft bill will ever be passed in the foreseeable future. There are so many better and more intelligent ways to a) grow our military, b) use our military, and c) most importantly retain our existing personnel that might otherwise not re-enlist and take that valuable knowledge and training to a civilian life. Up the re-enlistment bonuses.. it's still cheaper than retraining a new recruit and giving them the years to gain experience.

There will not be a draft.
But, that said, I don't see anyone getting blamed for it except the politicians who actually support it. An issue that huge would have so much opposition that those that support it would be clearly pointed out.

He already submitted a draft proposal once and it only got two "yea" votes. Rangel didn't even vote for it himself, so I wouldn't be too worried about it passing.

You've clearly not been watching the news. The people of Iran elected a more liberal party into the majority. Ahmadenijhad will be gone soon.
