Ok do this:
Draw 4 columns on a sheet of paper, Write down:
Column 1. Realistic Goals
Column 2. Time Span you will give yourself
Column 3. What is needed to attain this goal
Column 4. Check list
Important: Before you begin to reach out for goal, sit and discern what is needed: First calculate how long it will take you to complete that task or goal at hand, take all of other variable into consideration. How? Who? What? When? Next calculate what will be needed: money? materials? or a helping hand. The key is research.
First obtain what you need.
Break your Goal down into smaller Goals, for example.
Goal: I want to buy a car, so I can drive my girlfriend around in. You can't just walk out to a car dealership and expect to drive off in a car, there's steps to take before you can do this.
Steps #1: Save a down-payment.
How? Raise money, borrow money, get a loan, Get a job? How? Search on monster.com, or in newspaper? then what? get an interview, then what? get hired, and save a % of your check each pay day, etc.
Step #2: Clean up your credit.
How? Credit Counseling, Pay off bad debt, go to TrueCredit.com
Step #3: Sell or Trade in your car
Get the Idea?
Also, Set REALISTIC obtainable goals, and give yourself enough time to reach them and give yourself some credit, don't be so hard on yourself. If you were trying to lose weight for example, and wanted to drop 40 lbs. but only lost 11 lbs. instead, congratulate yourself for getting that far, and start over, reset your goal now to a more attainable amount of weight. Let's say you realized you can only drop 10 lbs. per month and not 40, readjust your goal to that standard.
A wise man once said: “Who of you that wants to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense, to see if he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, he might lay its foundation but not be able to finish it, and all the onlookers might start to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man started to build but was not able to finish.’”—Luke 14:28-30.

Everyone fails sometimes. I would suggest set a small goal. Like do 10 sit ups today, or read 2 pages of a book you have wanted to read. If you do that each day you will gain confidence in your ability to follow through! Goodluck.

Go get checked out for ADHD, it is a real problem!
People with this usually do not finish something from start to finish. We need a high level of stimulation in our lives. If something gets boring we move on. We do not mean to be this way but it just is. Live one day at a time, and work real hard at setting goals so we can reach them.
Not everyone with this needs to be on medication. Three out of the five of us are diagnosed with this, one is ADD. This of course is no excuse for anything, but you may want to go get tested. Just having a diagnoses may make one feel better knowing it is not just them, but there is a reason, from there one can read and find others afflicted with the same condition.
We all like to think of ourselves as unique individuals but there are many people who find it hard to finish something they start. I personally gave up on new years resolutions years and years ago and have not even taught my children about this useless tradition.
ADHD/ADD is also sub symptoms of other conditions...
Good luck!

Suck it up and keep trying. If you give up, you are defeating yourself from the start. Perhaps you could set your goals a bit lower, work at them one little success at a time. If you were a total loser, you wouldn't even be here asking this question. You'd be slouched somewhere in a park with your hand holding all your stuff in a shopping cart. So, take the day off. It is, after all a holiday and start winning tomorrow.

If you aren't failing, you aren't trying. You get a lot more 'no's' in life than 'yeses.' I agree that you should probably set smaller easily attainable goals that are part of the bigger picture. Only set goals that you have complete control over. One's that are based on your own actions, not specific outcomes. Start a success journal. Write down everything you did successfully.
I'll bet your not a failure at all. You only are because you think you are. Start thinking you're not and you won't be.

~You said it yourself "very low self-confidence, depression." You might suffer from ADD or simply depression, this is completely treatable!
Talk to your family doctor or therapist and talk about what upsets you and they may refer you to a specialist or prescribe medications themselves. It may take time to find the right one, but don't give up! Once you do find the right one, you'll feel so much better.
Check out the link below.
Good luck~

Dear Victoria. this is a very common question. first of all you should reconsider the goals you set. you shouldn't set very high targets because in that way you can accomplice your target and by that you feel depressed. secondly you should set priorities for the thinks you would like to do. try to be yourself there is no need to be perfect at everything. i am sure that you had accomplished many difficult task but you forgot them and i believe that the in future everything would be more and more excellent for you. just trust yourself and everything would be fine.
