Every year at Christmas time I am asked what I want for Christmas. Every year my answer is the same; A stress free, happy, and enjoyable day. My husband and I always get for the kids before we get for us. If I don't have money left to get him a wonderful Christmas present, I will fix his favorite meal; Round Steak with Corn-on-the-cob and mashed potatoes with gravy. He usually gets me something that has to do with what I collect (1 or2 items). When I got up with the kids this morning to open presents, there were of course all children presents. Like any parent you wait to open yours' til last. I had to move ALL my presents out of the way just to get to the kids. My two daughters and husband went all out for me this year. I don't know whether to be happy for all the gifts or feel guilty, because I didn't/couldn't spend alot on my husband?!! But, I do know that this year I felt like I was Appreciate and Loved!!!

Thanks for sharing - my kids are 3 & 6 and I have a long way to go. It's inspirational for those of us who are just learning to deal with being Santa's #1 elf that there's hope that our efforts will be recognized and appreciated in the future.

Peace!

you know what this reminds me I didn't get my ma anything for christmas this year... I know a whole lot of people are going huh? that's weird or they are proabably thinking I don't care for my ma or just think im making up something but in my house it's just me and ma and we were so busy buying gifts for others but i completely forgot about it... we didn't even put up a "decent" christmas tree because we were so busy with our lives. She got me a digital camera but it was few days before christmas and i dunno i completely forgot it just............ well better rush to the store after all it's the thought that counts..............

That's sweet that your family did that for you! Don't feel guilty. You did the best you could, and once in a while it's okay to get more than you give. Obviously your family feels the same.

I'm shown I'm appreciated by my baby smiling at me when he sees me every morning and after every nap.

First, why couldn't you spend money on your husband? Is it like your money and his money?

Second, if you fixed his favourite food, that means you care!!

And I was shown how much I was appreciated by my daughter today. I woke up to a phone call from my man who is far away, telling me he loved me, then I woke my daughter up and she gave me lots of kisses, and we cuddled. She gave me a bracelet she picked out herself.
