Merle to me is a beautiful word and name!!
I am not sure what this word means in reality. I love Merle as a color. I have had Australian Shepherds for over 20 years. I love the Merle's. The marbles that are Merle's I love as well!!
I have known two people in my life time with this name. Father and son. Father was gosh 80's or so and demanded respect. He talked and walked like he deserved it and therefor got it.
His son was a decorated big wig in the army. His office was splattered with metals and pictures of all sorts of people and him. He demanded respect and was quit deserving of it. At least I was intimidated by him which is my own insecurities I guess? He had this look that he gave when he was not to happy about something and one could see that he had authorities. He also demanded it out of everyone I saw him with, except his wife. I laughed at how she could make him do anything she wanted lol!
So to me the name Merle or the the color of Merl is beautiful....
I looked up what Merle means, it means Bird. I love birds lol!
My grandmothers name was Mertle but not the same name? She loved birds as well lol!

I think of love. The first thing that comes to mind is Merle Haggard, Milton Berle or Meryl Streep.

It makes me think of my Grandpa for some bizarre reason (his name wasn't Merle, it was Maynard!) so it makes me smile...
