Historically, vigilantism has proven to be just as lawless as those they go after. Far too many times, vigilanties have become power-mad and meted out justice to the wrong people. They are way too biased in their viewpoints as well as reactionary. In terms of gov't officials; they should be forever barred from holding any public office again or be employed by any gov't agency.

Not a vigilante group but a watchdog group that tracks them and records wrong doing. Then send tapes to the State's Attorney Generals Office so they can investigate the alleged wrong doing. Be sure to make copies of the tapes and keep them in a safe place.

No then you would be arrested. I have often thought of putting a tag on these politicians watchig their every move and then making a video report the public could see.
