Well, looking at magic from a Muslim's point of view, yes it is real because God talks about it in the Quran... where He says something like, the worst of magicians are those who do magic in order to separate a (married) couple or something.
As for fortune tellers, see, here's the thing: You go to a fortune teller (not permitted in Islam, but let's say a non-Muslim goes to one), and he predicts a little bit of your future. You end up BELIEVING what he tells you, and it sticks in your head. Then, psychologically speaking, because you really, REALLY believe that what the fortune teller has told you is true, it really does happen... because you made moves in order to make it come true.
I used to know a woman who was told by a fortune teller that she'll live in 8 houses before she finally settles in a permanent one. By the time she was my neighbor, she was in her 4th one and said that she's not gonna settle here because she's not meant to. Now, who knows whats meant for us and what's not? She probably hurried up and moved into 8 houses so she can finally settle permanently in one.... See what I mean?

The way you phrase it, no it's not real. Magic is illusion and fortune tellers are ways to profit from people's insecurity.
HOWEVER, magic (magick) in a mystical sense is very real and there are many people who can give you insight into lift and its events. Just like with anything that has to deal with highly personal issues and spirit don't be blindly taken in. *that* includes traditional organized religion. Be your own person, use your intellect and the sense of right and wrong you've accumulated in your life to show you the right way for you.

Yes, but you must know that it's not really magic. Were all born with special gifts...you just need to open you're heart and mind to you're higher self. Try meditating, it might take you about 10-15min to clear you're mind; but then when you feel relaxed and tap into the zone it feels wonderful! It will take you about 1-2 weeks before you're intuition starts too kick in. It also helps to do it every day around the same time. Good luck and good wishes!

human beings,irrational creatures they are, are always looking for explanations for the unexplained. If an event is out of the realm of an individuals knowledge they tend to see it as "magic";
when in reality it is a pheononenon whose relevent characteristics are not yet understood. {as was the theory of spontaneous generation in the 1700s} As humananity gains knowledge our need for such magical explanations should abate. As for fortune tellers, they are mostly good observers
who tell you what you want to hear with just enough insight to make it seem plausible.

magic is basically the energy that flows through everything. Wielders of magic are manipulators of that energy.
Fortune tellers, I don't think are real. I highly doubt that the stars and the creases in your palm can tell your fate.

Some... not many...but some.... that all involves the forces of evil and if the individual has contact with those forces then they can do real harm through the use of those practices.... fortunatly most are just scams... but the fact that so many "believe" makes even the scams evil. In that they keep people from
God.

Yes. But, is it a responsible way of seeking answers and bringing about changes in life ? That's another issue. 'There are
fortune tellers, and there are those more in tune to connect with message of spiritual realm...the importance is responsibility and honoring God. Prophets have communicated with and have been touched by insight. All 'messages' are to be verified that they are of Him and His Love for spiritual / soulful growth of enlightenment and insight for us.

Yes, run away before you are entrapped by evil spirits.
Idaho..., is right. Most is probably just a sleight of hand, and is not real, however it could lead you to the real.
