You need to reinstall your printer. You may have to download windows SP1 and SP2 before doing the reinstall. Go to Device manager and delete the printer but do not reboot windows yet. Next uninstall the driver/software that came with the printer. Shut down your pc and physically disconnect the printer from the usb port. Turn on your PC and put the install disc from the printer in, somewhere near the end of the installation it will ask you to connect the printer to the usb port and turn it on. If it does not, it's OK, just finish the installation process and plug in the printer, reboot PC to make sure window load the driver for it.

Hi there! First, tell me what kind of computer and Operating System do you have? Second, what kind of printer? How did you install it? Here are some points: usually (not always) you need to install the software before you actually connect your printer to your computer. If you already connected your printer and then installed your software, then, what you need to do is REMOVE the software-(program), completely, reboot and start all over again. Install the software, turn computer off. While the computer is off, connect the printer, then turn the computer back on. If you are usin Windows XP as your operating System, then all the software to operate your printer should already be ready to recognize your printer and operate it without a "glitch", however if you are running any other OS, there may be a question of intergration of your equipment and you might have to upgrade either your OS or your printer. This means that they are not compatible, therefore cannot live in harmony together. I hope this helps.

First off, have you had an interruption of service or had the printer disconnected for some reason?

If it was working before, you could go into your installed programs and uninstall the printer.

Then reinstall with your printer disk and see if that cures the problem. Sometimes printers can get a little quirky and I have had to do this once or twice. Pain in the butt, I know, but just a process you gotta' do to make the tempermental beast to work.

Make sure the cables are secure and plugged into the appropriate connections. Make sure the printer power is on. If all else fails, leave the printer connected to the PC and powered on, and reboot the computer.

Or, you could try the "Add New Hardware" wizard found in the Control Panel.

assuming all the connections are correct and the power is on for everything: I would reinstall the drivers/update the drivers. Also on some computers/printers, the printer cable (mainly USB) gets loose. You might want to make double sure that the plug is securely in.

Macs are many times shipped with regularly occurring defects (see: "too lots thermal paste") that could shorten their existence span. If there is something programmed in, that is going to be rather cutting-edge. I even have an old G3 clamshell iMac that still runs although. Btw, Peanut, Macs have been desktops for years, now. all the areas are the comparable and OS X makes use of a BSD center... that's seen a working laptop or laptop working equipment. So if desktops spoil down in a year, so do Macs. The irony of path is a few analysts anticipate that in keeping with Mac revenues to how few human beings use them, human beings improve them remarkly speedy. that is everywhere from 2 to 5 situations quicker than the in many situations occurring abode windows person.
