Why are people so ungratefull?

Question

I was just wondering how people can be so ungratefull about anything they get as a GIFT. My daughter gave me a picture for Christmas that I paid for. I am very gratefull. How did our society become this way? I gave both my daughters digital cameras for Christmas. The oldest is mad because hers isnt as good as her sisters. She actually started crying and throwing a fit. My solution you ask? I will be returning it and she will get nothing.

i think that they are un greatful because there caught up with friends,popularity,materialism and high dollar clothing instead of going out and waisting all ur money take them out to a homeless shelter or have them work with kids younger that dont have as much as they do have them observe what life is really about an what they need to focus on like school ,education an there careers and where they'll be going in life and spend a little more time with them talk to them.

this is totally bizarre. were you an only child yourself? have you really never heard of sibling rivalry? you give them presents of different value and expect them to be happy about it? heavens! even if both cameras had been of exactly equal value but one had been pink and one had been green still there would have been tears and tantrums! and now you compound your own error by going into a sulk yourself and refuse to give one anything? who is the adult here? sheesh! please! get a book on basic parenting skills before you wind up in that old folks home forever grumbling about how noone ever comes to visit you!

Nobody bought me anything for Christmas but I'm grateful because I'm alive and I have the knowledge that Christ died for me. What a great gift that is.

People are ungrateful when they're spoiled. Your daughter is obviously spoiled. You did the right thing taking it back.
