It says that my graphic card isn't DirectX9.0c compatible? I have wanted this game forever and finally got it for Christmas and I can't even play it! I don't know where the graphics card is located and I don't know what I need to do to make it work. Please help me?

I already installed DirectX9.0 on there, but a window pops up when I try to play.

Right Click on Desktop and select Properties, select Settings, select Advanced, select Adapter. This is your graphic card or chip.
There is a DirectX 9 version b and version c. Download and install version c if you do not already have it.

Minimum System Requirements for The Sims 2

If you have a T&L capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM then you need at least:
800 MHz processor or better
256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000
At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space
If you have a non-T&L capable video card (an Intel Extreme Graphics or a Radeon 7000/VE Series) then you need at least:
2.0 GHz processor or better
256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98, or Windows 2000
At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space
Get the most current driver for your video card. The manufacturers usually have the video drivers on their sites for you to download. Visit the nVidia site, the ATI site or the support site for your computer's manufacturer for the latest drivers for those video cards.

Supported video cards (and the more video memory the better):

make sure the processor is good, otherwise the game will run really slowly.. The sims 2 uses the processor more than the graphics card... The graphics really aren't all that great, so the graphics card doesn't work too hard... but since you'll probably have a bunch of people and lots of things happening in your house (in the sims 2) it'll require a lot of processing power, otherwise your game will slow down..
