98.6 degrees is comfortable for our internal body. Usually, 70 degrees is favorable for our skin. That's why when you jump into a tub of 98.6 degrees it might initally be weird. But, to think about it, our blood is that temperature as well. It's more of the sensory pain that we feel.....also, psychological.

Because your body is in fact a heat engine. It burns food and that relaeses energy. If there is no tempeture difference, that heat builds up and your internal tempeture rises. To prevent cell damage, your body releases water (persperaion and urne) to carry away the excess heat by evaporation, but that takes a lot of work. That's why you are tired when its hot.

Your body is constantly producing heat. Your body cools itself by transfering the heat to the outside envoironment. If the outside environment is as hot as it is inside, then it becomes difficult to cool the body, and we start to use functions like sweating to assist.
It's similar to having an oven or stove running in your house and then trying to cool it by just opening the windows. It's easy in the winter, but more difficult in the summer without the assistance airconditioning (similar to our sweat).

Marilyn Vos Savant once answered this in her column in Parade magazine. It's because we are wearing clothes outside. If we weren't wearing clothes, we would be comfortable.

I guess that's how the Earth feels. When the germs and insects get on us, they probably sweat the same was we do when its that hot outside.
