well they lost the first game 8 to 3 to the panthers, so a lot of people lost hope quickly. after that they were still doing badly(1-4 in the first 5 games) the last 2 weeks of november, they had two 3 game winning streaks. they were 6-4 this month. now they are 18-13-0-2 and they have won like 3 games in shootouts!!! they are in 3rd place in the division and 9th place in the conference(1 point out of the playoffs!)
patrice bergeron and marc savard have been the top scorers(they each have over 40 points). Chara has been doing great too, with 6 goals, 17 points.
tim thomas hurt his ankle a few weeks into the season, then when he got better played badly one game and was sent to provedince. he was recalled after a few games down there, but tim thomas was(and still is) doing very well) thomas has started 27 of the last 28 games)
so they are 18-13-0-2
1 point out of the playoffs
and they are on a roll
good news!!!
hope you can come home soon

They had a young team last year and this year they have one more year of experience. I think taking the Habs to 7 games last year really showed them that they can play with the big boys. They are also showing alot of heart and determination this year that hasn't been seen in quite a long time around hear. Guess they got sick of being the 4th team in Boston sports after all the Championships. I think they can hold on to first but the Habs can't be counted out and neither can the Penguins, but so far no team in the east can be considered the favorite. As for winning the Cup? I hope so, they are the only team I haven't seen win a championship. Bruins = 72' Me = 73'

We're doing ok. The biggest story is probably one of our biggest prospects - Phil Kessel. He's 19 years old and was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Fortunately, it looks his surgery was a complete success and may be back on the ice in a matter of weeks. Tim Thomas has been doing well lately in goal - even got a shutout - but I just think we need a more consistent goaltender - that's what all the great teams have. Some teams have two good goalies - I think a trade would do some good especially if we can get one of the two goalies in Anaheim, Nashville, Buffalo or San Jose. I just don't have a lot of faith in Thomas over a full season. As of December 26, 2006 we are one point out of 8th place (behind the CAPS if you can believe that!) with two games in hand on them. So far Buffalo and Atlanta are the best in our conference with everyone else fighting for position after them. Montreal is a big surprise - I don't think they are as good as their record indicates but it will be tough to catch them in the standings at this point. Of course, one of their stars is Samsonov! Anyway, once the Bruins overcome their start, they will probably face the San Jose Sharks in the Finals -- against Thornton. Bruins in 7!!
Good luck to you and thanks for your service!!! You guys rock!!

They started the season bad, but have played well since then with an 18-13-2 record and also, they are in third place in their division and 9th overall in the eastern conference. A big reason for their success has been the goaltending of Tim Thomas and also Marc Savard as well. I hope everything goes well and make it back to America to see at least one bruins game. Hopefully they win the stanley cup this year. PEACE.

well in the beggining of the season they were amongst the bottom feeders, but since the re-emergence of bergeron and thomas, they seem to be a team to be reckoned with. I predict they will finish 4th in the east.
