Merry Christmas!!!
Our daughter ( 5 yrs old) sings Happy Birthday to the Baby Jesus in her Nativity every year. We always celebrate Jesus before going to our tree and opening our gifts.

Well, it's really about both. But we're just going to have to stick with it's more about gifts because that's how most people are celebrating it today and we're just going to have to stick with it. Sad to say, I know. But December 25 isn't EXACTLY Jesus' birthday, historians say it's some date NEAR this, they aren't sure so they just made an educated guess, but it really isn't the 25th of December, no one is sure what date but they estimated it approximately to this. Yes, CHRISTmas is about Jesus, but many tend to forget that fact. I do remember because there are many songs on the radio about this event, but most are still about giftgiving and Santa Claus and all that, so I guess still a lot more people believe it's about gifts, sorry. But I remember both parts.

find a text in the bible where it states Jesus birthday was specifically DEC 25. have u seen Bethlehem in December? snow. Shepard's wouldn't be frolicking about and no baby would be in an open barn in that weather. there's no denying he was born but if u literally do the math, it all happened and a warmer time of the year. Christmas is what u make of it. it's a holiday that tries to bring out the best in people and often brings out the worst in us. gift giving and family time should be year around not just once a year. im all for the concept of joy but get Ur facts straight, Christmas is commercial, stores make money, both naughty and nice kids get rewarded, people are in debt and we all smile hoping we get gifts to compensate us for the money we spent. now that is the meaning of christmas.

Thanks for the reminder and all this time I thought when people got me gifts for Christmas, I thought they were actually celebrating MY birthday, but now you've cleared that up for me. Thanks again and merry Christmas! By the way, some people DO celebrate a birthday on Christmas Day, not just Jesus Christ, especially if they were born on this day just like our Lord was.

No, you have it the wrong way round. It is about people and gifts. No one is sure what date Jesus was born and most people don't believe that he was the son of God as described in the New Testament anyway.
