I have a Cingular Prepaid phone can I buy an 'unlocked' phone and still keep my phone number?

I already have a prepaid phone from cingular, but the phone that I want is 'unlocked' will they still allow me to use it w/o changing my plan or #?

Yes.
If you want to buy another unlocked GSM phone, go ahead.
Take your SIM card from your old(Cingular Prepaid) phone to your new phone.
And you can still use it without any changes.
(Pls make sure that your new phone was "unlocked",otherwise, you might not be able to use your current SIM card)
