When I knit, is it supposed to take a long time for a short scarf? I put on 15 casts (no pattern just plain & simple) and it's taken me an hour to get about 2 inches...What am I doing wrong?

first, how big are your needles, and second, are you in garder stitch (knitting every row) if so, it feels like you are taking forever, but pull on what you have worked on, it will be longer. if you are new to knitting, be patient. when you do the same thing for a long time, it seems really boring and not progressive. you'll get there. try watching tv while you knit, or race your self against the clock. hope it looks great! good luck!

It takes some time, you can't expect to finish a scarf in two hours. If you feel your work is taking too long, try bigger needles, which will make bigger stitches, making your project seem longer.
