This is a ridiculous question. Of all the things that you have chosen that would contribute to the destruction of society (which by the way is in decent health) you chose a matter of civil liberty. Think before you ask, or ask correctly. War, crime, addiction, rape, abuse, racism, ethnic clensing-----all better issues to do with the degredation of a society.

Destroyed is a really strong word.

Changed society... Certainly.

My brothers say yes. My mother says she doesn't know. Myself, I don't consider myself a feminist, but I am a take charge take no prisoners kind of gal. My father taught me that I could be anything I wanted to be. That I could do anything men could do. That I may have to approach things in a different way because I don't have the same physical attributes as my male counter parts but that I could accomplish all the same things none the less.

Does this mean I am personally responsible for the decline in civilization? I hardly think so. I don't go to rallies. I do try to let other women know that they can make it without having to compromise themselves ie; mental or physical abuse at the hands of men. That they are strong and smart.

I'm not quite sure why "men" feel so threatened by the female of the species that they feel the need to have complete control over them to begin with.

The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Why not let everybody use theirs!

Only if you mean we've destroyed society the same way that Abolitionists and Civil Rights activists and women's suffrage activists have destroyed society. Yeah, I guess to bigots and people who are discriminatory and who like to keep others below them by not giving them rights, all of these groups have "destroyed" society. But to anyone interested in equality and justice, there's no doubt that we have improved the world and made it a better place for all.

Well first of all what makes you think society has been "destroyed"?

There are some positive and negative aspects of feminism and needs to be looked at in a balanced way.

Feminism has helped women gain equal rights- they didn't use to be able to vote (albeit this was a long time ago).

Unfortunately, feminism also tells women that they need to be like men. The problem is that women are NOT men and they need to know that it's O.K. to be different than men.

Well, let's see. Society isn't destroyed, so, I'd have to say no.

Why do you have a problem with the idea that women are human beings, not property?

If you pretended to be a human being, you might fool some woman long enough to get laid.

Who knows, you might fool yourself and actually become a human being.

But then, I'm an optimist.

Women are human. You have no property rights with respect to owning other human beings.

Get over it.

No, and if you knew the true meaning of feminism, you would agree..........I think society has been destroyed by hate, corruption, lack of morals and prejudice, none of which has anything to do with feminism.

Merry Christmas : )

Feminism is another way of saying power hungry and unsatisfied. The feminist movement has nothing to offer the average woman. It is a pseudo society for lesbians and the wannabe chiefs. Many with immature mind sets and lack of respect for authority are often drawn to the feminist movement.
Feminists have not destroyed society; they have simply given people of often questionable character an avenue of somewhat public expression and provided another label for a select bunch.
Mr. M on "feminists."

No more than I accept society has been destroyed. The feminist movement has caused some damage, but nothing that justifies such a claim.

So because we want equality (basic definition of feminism), we're the cause for all problems associated with society?

Asking for the wage gap to end, the glass ceiling to be broken, legal punishment for rape, is to blame?

Is your idea of salvaging society returning to a puritanical society where women were second class citizens?

No thank you.
