Does you monitor work or not? Or is it videos that are not playing this is 2 different troubleshooting scenerios. Does you PC desktop come up (The one with all the icons). If so then your problem watching videos has more to do with your Media player like Real Media Player, Windows Medial Player, or Quicktime. Make sure you have the right player. You probably already have Windows Player but make sure you get the latest one. Like Windows Media Player 10.... If you need real player or quicktime you can download them free anywhere on the internet. Thisis the cheapest way to go 1st. If this don't work, you Graphics card may be a problem with viewing videos and the slowness you experiencing.

NOW... If it's not your Graphics card and the PC is still slow...

As for having a slow PC. Go out and but some RAM memory. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new PC. MAX out the RAM.. depending on the age of your pc. Try to get at least 2 x 512 memory cards = total of course 1024 RAM. If you can go higher do it. It probaly the be best investment to make form the sounds of it.
