I'm travelling to london next january and i was wondering what was the best way to get around in london. I wil be mainly in zones 1 to 4, but i will also have to go from a to the hetrhw airport. So i was wondering what could be less expensive to buy: an unlimited travel card for zones 1-4 (and pay separetaly the heathrow trips) or a pay as you go with about 35 pounds. what's more convinient?

If you're travelling during morning peak rush hour (i.e. before 9.30am) for at least 4 of the 5 weekdays, it's likely to be cheaper to buy a 7 day travelcard. Visit the Transport for London website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/ as they will tell you the daily price cap and the travelcard price. You should be able to work what is cheaper from there.

If you think you'll be traveling a lot over the course of the week (back and forth to school or work, plus extra journys around town) it's probably best to by a weekly pass. If you're not sure perhaps you should start out with the pay as you go and try to figure out how much travel you do over a week or so.

It depends how often you travel. If you travel every day, i.e. to work, then a weekly or monthly travelcard is better value. If you don't travel frequently, then get a pay-as-you go.
