I think it's just a part of our stupid human nature.
But also, people who are deaf have different levels of deafness, so sometimes they can hear certain sounds.
But mostly, I think it's just cause we're stupid sometimes. Even more stupid is when people talk louder to people who speak a different language.

Beacause the people think the deaf person will hear them better or understand them better which is not true unless they are only deaf on one ear but other then that i think its a habbit, people shouldn't talk louder around a deaf person.

Because the person is deaf lol!!
I went out with a guy years ago who was legally deaf in one ear. He could still hear a tad bit in that ear, but still recognized as deaf. Everything was always turned way up loud...If talking to him on his bad side one would have to yell.

Having never had the actual experience of being (beyond sticking their fingers in their ears which still allows some level of hearing) deaf, they try what they imagine would work for them if they were.
In the case of blindness, they can imagine the blind have the same experience as when they close their eyes, so they don't turn up the lights in the their presence.

For a deaf person, hearing may seem a little difficult. Volumes need to be loud because:
1) in a normal person's ear sounds that are vibrations in the air, travel through the inner part of the ear and pushes/vibrates the eardrums (which is highly sensitive), transmitting it to our brain and registers it as sounds
2) for deaf people, the eardrum might be functioning poorly, so the vibrations (sounds) need to be as loud as it can for it to be transmitted to the brain. lets just put into fact that their eardrums are not that highly sensitive

this is a brilliant question. i think of it may be impolite in the event that they are in a position to't study lips. So if I have been dealing with a deaf individual for the 1st time, and that i did no longer be attentive to the thank you to sign, i could ask them in the event that they are in a position to study lips. in the event that they nod definite, we are ok. If i can't sign and that i dangle out with a deaf individual many times who can no longer study lips, then i think they're used to no longer listening to conversations. yet a pad of paper and a pencil could help.
