Natasha Bedingfield. She's fun, upbeat, no foul language, and many of the songs are inspiring, and good for self esteem.

Try Radio Disney for artists that don't use foul language and the format is family friendly for all ages. They play music by Bowling for Soup, Jessie McCartney, Hillery Duff, Hanna Montana, B5 and of course various Disney made bands like Cheetah Girls. The music format is like any other radio station with giveaways and chatter - my whole family enjoy it and the kids range from 9-18. The dial is 1110am here in Los Angeles, you can check the website (http://radio.disney.go.com/index.html) for your channel and I know they are a standard on XM radio as well. Good Luck!

Kidz Bop. But that would be humiliating.

Check the jewel case for the "Parental Advisory" label. Sometimes the same CD can come in a "Clean" version, where all of the explicit content is censored.

Alternative rock is popular among teens these days. Try prescribing something that has meaningful lyrics and, at the same time, has a nice beat. I recommend Linkin Park.

teletubbies or stuff for 5 and under. To be honest even if its not got swearing its heavily influenced by sex. It makes me sick that kids so young have role models that wear belts for skirts and the parents that actually let them go out in clothes that makes them look like prostitutes. Fair enough when they learn to be responsible and do things for themselves and not just to follow a trend but i´ve seen 12-13 year old in heavy make up and mini skirts and its sick.
The artist really need to have more responsibility when making music for the younger generation. How is a 12 year meant to know what losing the love of your life to another woman/man feels like, or beeing drunk or wasted???
