I GOT A NEW COMPUTER FOR CHRISTMAS!!! I WANT TO GIVE MY SON MY OLD ONE. HOW DO I TRANSFER ALL OF MY PICTURES, IPOD MUSIC AND PROGRAMS TO MY NEW COMPUTER???

I HAVE A USB GOLD CABLE.

transferring the data files is the easy part. you can either use a USB transfer cable or network the 2 computers together. to transfer the programs you need to look into software applications such as Laplink PCmover Software. see the link below

Forget the USB cable.

You have three options really. The slowest but potentially easiest if there isn't too much is to get them both on the internet and do a file transfer over, for the sake of brand loyalty, Yahoo! Messenger.

Another option would be writing the information to a CD or DVD, assuming you have access to that sort of technology.

The quickest way is, if you both have network cards, to get a network cable (crossover cable, not patch cable) to connect the two computers, then turn on file sharing and you should find the other computer's shared folder in my network neighbourhood.
