I've got an older MS IntelliMouse optical that says it supports Win 95/98, Win NT 40 and Win Pro 2000. Will it run on a Win XP Home PC?

It should definitely work. Older hardware almost always works on newer systems. The only thing that you should clarify is that if your MS IntelliMouse has a serial port input and no USB port input, because many newer Windows XP computers do not have a serial port input for a mouse, but only USB Ports. A serial port mouse input is typically round, and a USB input is typically a thin rectangle. If you find that your mouse does only have a serial port input and your computer only has USB ports, then you can buy a serial port-USB port converter at most computer stores, but they can cost as much as a new mouse! Otherwise, you should have no problems. Hope this helps, and happy holidays!

sure, it should work.

You may want to look into getting a optical mouse, they have no moving parts beyond the buttons. You can get them in USB and PS2 plug styles. If you buy from a source like Newegg.com, you will be able to pick one for less than 10.00.

I trust partygirl. installation xp is uncomplicated because of the fact the OS disks will self deploy yet will wipe the disk in the technique. XP desires lots greater potential on the compuer than Win98 and we've an previous Dell which we shop on Win98 cos it basically aint useful adequate to handle XP. remember in case you dont have a sturdy returned up of your "previous" HDD you're able to lose Win98 and fail to run XP properly too.
