On most all garden variety peas--4 peas about 70% of the time; that's given proper moisture and average care.....

Depends on the variety of pea and it's growing conditions. Some varieties can produce around 5 peas...others around 10. Look through some gardening/seed catalogs or visit websites like Stokes Seeds, Jung Seeds, Thomson and Morgan or Burpee to see the many varieties.
