The full biological toxonomic description would be something like:

Kingdon: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Lagomorpha
Family: Leporidat
Genus: Various (and many)
Species: also very many

In short, there is no word for the "whole species" of rabbits as there are many species of rabbits. The "family" of rabbits is called leporidat, as the family cows belong to is called bovine. (Water buffalo and yaks are also in this family).
