I had a shirt get one of those pictures printed on it, but it desperately needs to be washed. How can I acheive a new state of cleanliness without risking the ink from the image getting washed off or staining the other clothes?

Use Woolite in cold water by hand, soak it rather than wash it in a washing machine. AND wash it inside-out to protect the pictures. A good clothing item is worth the extra effort. Oh, and dry it hanging or flat, then just a minute in a warm dryer to take out any wrinkles. Do not iron it or you could lose/ruin the picture.

I would recommend, turning the shirt inside out, and if possible wash the shirt by itself in COLD COLD water... however, if you have no other choice but to wash the shirt with other articles of clothing make sure your washer is set to the COLD COLD cycle. It should stop bleeding from the printed shirt and by turning it inside out, you reduce the risk of damaging the image on your shirt. Good Luck.

any article of clothing that has printing of other enhancements should be turned inside-out when washed. gentle cycle is better since the washing/spinning action is hard on the enhancements.
even with hand washing it will eventually deteriorate

its okay! just rinse it by hand before you wash it and some of the color will come out, and then flip it inside out and stick it in the washing machine, it'll be fine!
