I like getting girft cards....cuz i can get whatever i want from the store and i don't have to spend so much...some people say that it is impersonal to give someone a gift card but to be honest i hate getting stuff that i don't really need and they always end up going to salvation army or regifting....that's a total waste.

its okay with me,but it means a lot more when the person takes the time to go look for something special for you,but if the person has a bad taste for gifts then its better to get a giftcard so i wont have to go back to the store and stand in line to exchange it

I'm split on gift cards - sure, they're easier than a traditional gift since they don't have to be wrapped and allow the recipient to choose their own gift. The thing I DON'T like about receiving them is that they force you to go to one store. All things being the same, it's just nice that someone was thoughtful enough to get me anything at all!

I like to receive a giftcard, as it would not offend me (My wife gets all twisted on that one)
