P.s. i live in UK.. and the main garages in my area are all shell or bp.. shell is cheapest and shell v power is only 5p more than standard bp unleaded..
i also have a plus points card which is making me lean towards using v power as i get more points with it and then can change them for 10£ fuel vouchers sooner!

Fill your car with whatever is cheapest. Every time you get the oil changed use a bottle of "Techron" from Chevron.

a better method of cleaning the engine is to replace the oil with diesel fuel. run the vehicle for about three to five minutes. then drain the diesel. you will need thre oil filters since you need to put a clean filter on before runnimng with diesel. then drain the diesel, and repeat the process again. drain the diesel again and put clean filter and fill with new oil.
when you put in new oil, if you can locate this type, use a high temperature turbine oil such as chevron gs 100. it is a clear oil, does not burn, such as regular motor oil does which causes it to turn black, and only requires changing filters every three to five thousand miles. since it doesn't burn, it has almost no emission problems from the oil, doesn't cause wear and tear on the engine, which is the result of the particulates in the regular motor oil as it darkens (it's carbon from the burning of the oil) and will remain clear at even the hottest engine temps. a car engine has operating temp in the cylinders under four hundred degress, and the oil burn temp is over five hundred. this oil should be changed at about fifty thousand miles, or a bit sooner if it starts getting dark ( iut will not turn black).when checking it, you will have to be very careful to be sure you read the sick accurately since the clear oil is hard to see on the stick. also, you should have the fuel system cleaned to remove any deposits that could restrict the flow of fuel in the injectors. both will improve your running as well as give a litle better milage. deposits from the fuel build up and restrict the fuel flow just enough to lessen your gas mileage by as much as 10% over time.
ifyou have too much trouble reading the oil level, you can add a small amount of food coloring to allow you to see the oil on the stick a little better.
if you decide to use the same oil you are using now, keep it changed regularly, but go ahead and use the diesel to get much of the dirt and crud out of the engine. it doesn't hurt the engine. just be sure not to drive the car with diesel in the engine. use it only to clean it out. and be sure you change the filter after each rinse and whenever you change oil.
as for the fuel you are thinking of, it would probably be better to add a fuel additive rather than paying the higher cost for the fuel.

You'll spend more money trying to clean your fuel system using that fuel than if you just use the octane level your owners manual suggests, And use this fuel additive.. Go to an auto parts store and buy a bottle of LUCAS Fuel injector cleaner. I suggest the 32 ounce bottle. You only use 3 oz for every 10 gallons of gas so you'll be able to get around 6 uses out of it. It will remove the deposits and carbon in your intake and valves etc. Will clean and lubricate your injectors and you can treat the car to it every 3 fill ups to keep up the cleanliness in the fuel system.

i own a repair shop, and there's not a a whole lot of benefits to using it,,in some cases people say it does better,,but most people notice very little change in it at all ,you can try it ,and if it seems to start and run better you can use it but for the extra cost it may not be worth it,,i use the 87 octane in all of my vehicles ,and it does as good as any of the rest of them,,good luck, hope this help,s.,,merry x-mas.
