check your video card, go to my computer, right click there. then click on properties, when that opens click on the tab that says hardware. click on device mannager and find your video card and click on the little + icon beside it, when that opens up if something is wrong it will have an exclamation point beside it
Please note*****Even though your system may be new, since the monitor works with the other system, it is possible you have a bad card or it has come loose somehow.

Is your monitor also a TV? Check that the input source is set to the PC graphics (DVI or VGA)
Make sure that the monitor brightness is not set to 0 via the monitor buttons (ive seen it before honest!)
mm reread the question - monitor is ok with other pc. So monitor is good, the one PC must be bad.
Are the new PC graphics on motherboard or standalone card? Card maybe pulled out of motherboard slot. If there is no seal on case, pop side off & take a look.

Something on your computer is not compatible with it..maybe your video card. You should contact who you bought your computer from and ask them since the monitor should work if it's the same make.
Sometimes monitors come with software that you have to install on your computer. Did you do that? Not everything is plug and play. :~)
Have you got another monitor to try with this computer...just in case there is something wrong with the monitor? Always a process of elimination in trouble shooting.
By the way sound doesn't come from your monitor...unless it has built in speakers...so the fact your sound works isn't relevant if it doesn't come from the monitor anyhow.
Rule out somehow it isn't your monitor (try it on someone elses computer) and if not, well you need to bring your computer in and let them check it.

Make sure all the leads are properly pushed into the sockets on both the graphic card and behind the monitor

Try a different monitor to see if the aspire is the problem or the monitor. If it is the monitor, then you are stuck with either a new motherboard or a new video card.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
