OK...I meant results are solely based on judges. Yes referees and umpires are judges, but far and the results are determined by the players.

Wouldn't you consider referees and umpires judges?

False. They are highly competitional and some of the most delightful sports I can think of. Judging should be improved and there are simple ways of doing that like not calling up judges from one ex-Soviet republic to judge on another because they always side with each other, as if they were still the same country-just an example). It's not perfect, so what? No human institution is. There's no reason to consider those sports not to be sports. I've seen decisions in ball games which switched results the wrong way more evidently than any gymnastics or skating judging error.

Figure skating, gymnastics and boxing are all sports. Just because it has judges doesn't mean it's not a sport. I mean, referees are judges, basically.
If you don't think those "events" are sports, what are they, then?

U have your facts mixed up. The results of gymnastics are NOT up to the judges. They are up to how well the girl/boy preformed and that is how the girls/boys get there scores. I do consider those sports because they require tons of exercise and work more so than football does. Suck on that.

umm gymnastics and ice skating are definitely sports. they are just like football or soccer. you have to practice and get better at it. they are just the same as any other sport you compete and you win or lose just like a game of football , soccer, hockey , etc. you are against the other person or other team, every sport invovles a lot of exercise and practice so i think those things are sports

It's more of an opinion. To me, a sport just involves excersize and/or competition. So I'd say False. But try watching ESPN... everything on there is considered a sport.
