Only to the degree that eating shellfish is an abomination.
Notice the passage where current translations use the word "abomination." Notice that the eating of shellfish (lobster, crab, etc.) is included in the list, equivalent to whatever sexual practice is also listed.
Consider that that sexual practice was not originally worded to mean homosexuality itself, but instead a misuse of sex which could be by heterosexuals or homosexuals.
In the original writings, homosexuals were not even recognized as distinct from the general population. Many alterations of the bible have occured as dictated by those in power each time.
I think you're catching on to something here. Good thinking!
I recommend being on the lookout for cases where "God" is "created in the image and the likeness of" man.
If you want to take this further, try on the idea that God is not a human being, but an infinite source of power and creation, out of which everything was and is and will be created.
When I am in the Presence of God, it feels like pure Love, pure Peace, pure Light....a unifying Presence, not anything like judgment that separates and promotes hatred.

Personally, I think that it is a defect of nature, as there are many.
Also, we know that Man has made many changes or alterations to the Bible. So, I would say that we do not know if the "abomination" thing is really accurate or not. I find it amazing that some people "choose" their sins to focus on. A lot of people that go on about homosexuals have been divorced multiple times and perhaps, might even be having sex without the benefit of marriage. Those are sins too. And, it also says in the Bible that all sins are equal in the eyes of God.

Thats right its not a sin. The bible was written my man not God and there were in the early days many different books and not all of them were the same and in many that particular verse was not present. No where in those books did it say gay was an abomination. What God made is the way it is.

Well, I agree with you there. But the Bible DOES say it is an abomination, but in CONTEXT it tells you WHY it is an abomination. The Christian homophobes take the passage out of context to show that homosexuality is wrong, but ignore all the other passages that say things are abominations.
I think that many Christians work the logic backwards, and they use this to show that being gay IS a choice. They say that the Bible says that being gay is an abomination, so therefore being gay HAS to be a choice. Because, like you said, God doesn't make abominations

There is no god. The concept of god is wholly a fabrication of man and has historically been used to subjugate and control the thoughts and activities of its various populations. The reason why the Bible says what it says is to reign-in people and have them conform to a particular standard. Not necessarily a higher standard. Just the one that that religion espouses. But there are a thousand different religions and always have been. This one will pass eventually and will be looked upon as a curiosity, much as we now view the gods of the ancient Greeks or Romans.

your absolutely right, sadly man has used God for his own work by claiming Davine inspiration. Religion on it's own is wondrous and purposeful, without it we would not have morality or disciplines. Sadly with man's interpretation of it we have had hate and murder.
I am also of the ilk who believes in God and that God has a purpose for everything and everyone, man is the one that has ruined most of his purposes by coveting human nature with out respect for himself or others.

God creates us as individuals who are allowed to make choices. He lays out the way HE wants us to go but, allows us to make that choice.
I would prefer to have mulitiple partners but, I have made a choice to be married and keep my wedding vows. (I amy argue that I was not MADE monogomous)
