Only on Friday 13th, when you wake up, look out of the window and see one magpie. You then spill salt when trying to season you omelette, go to shops, tread on a crack in the pavement and walk under a ladder. On the way home it starts raining and you don't close your umbrella before going into the house, you find your lucky black cat has popped it's clogs and in the confusion you put the shoes you just bought on the table. Otherwise you should be fine. Touch wood!

Superstions are irrational. Irrational behaviour is more likely to lead to bad things happening. But it is not bad luck, more, bad judgement, to be superstitious.

yes it's bad luck to be superstitious.
your thoughts, even the sub-conscious ones, affect your life and the way you perceive things. if you believe you are going to have trouble because of a superstition, you probably will.
but the clover cuts both ways. if you only perceive the good fortunes coming your way, then you might get more luck than you think.

Responsible people make their own luck in life. Those who don't are victims of the wind currents.

its only bad luck if you belive its bad luck. by this i mean if you belive when a black cat crosses your path that something bad will happen then you are subconciously sabotaging yourself. as you will be paroniod and as paranoia causes panic and panic causes rash judgement you are bound to be the cause of any "bad luck".
