yes dearie i have been all day as well....

usu in the past few years that i have been alone i just get depressed and drink and think about the failure i've become....but this year i was actually able to grow up and just be thankful for the idea that at least i have oppurtunity that waits ahead...it wasn't bad being alone...really. I saw "the holiday"" it was a nice way of spending my xmas and be in the xmas spirit with all these people that i don't know sitting around me...it still was so magical

I knwo it sounds cliche but it is true: jst keep u eyes to the future...ur life isn't over and u can do whatever it takes to have a happy holiday..if not today in the future...

i myself have been lonely.. admit i was crying earlier tonight but dno't forget about the beauty around u....hugs merry xmas

I am not alone but far away from my son and today I am going over to someone's house with 12 people there for dinner and she just called me to tell me the 36 lb. turkey is smelling bad and she doesn't want to cook it. $ 90 down the drain. I don't think it's bad, she just never smelled an uncooked turkey before but doesn't matter if she cooked it now we be eating at midnight. So, we take a ham there are worst things.... . Why are you alone? Well, you're partly alone, we are all here to wish you a very happy New Year. Hoping that the new year will bring you anything you wish for.

Sometimes a few notes of reassurance is all that you need. These particular points in life can also be small turning points to allow you to reflect on what your path is, as there is no distraction.

It is recommended you take on a creative project during this time . (i.e.) painting, music, and other outlets that will better help you with this time. Do a little exercising, try out a new hobby. The key is to be aware of your situation, yet not drag on it for long. There are always better days, and better holidays to come 'round.

Enjoy it. If you're going to have one day of the year to be alone and reflect it should be either Christmas or New Year's Day. If you're the coolest person you know, you'll like spending some time alone.

Not today but last year I was. I was on nights in A&E, on Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing day and living in hospital accommodation. So when I got home on Christmas day after the night shift I was all alone in hospital accommodation (everyone else had gone home for the holiday) and I just slept all day til my next night shift....

Being alone on Christmas is the saddest day of the year. I've spent several that way. There is a small ray of sunshine though - you've got your computer and the internet. Do the best with what you've got. I'll be thinking of you and your heart this day. God Bless.

Yeah, that's me. I have friends out there but they all live in different states. I have friends here, but they are all spending time with their families, or are out of town. Dont be sad. Just think that it is just another day, and you'll be ok. Go see a movie and eat some chinese food! Merry christmas.

I am! 2 years ago was worse though. Imagine spending it in a country that celebrates it a day early in which you know nobody, only to do the same thing again on the 25th.

My Wife passed away eight years ago last month. It was the morning before Thanksgiving. Her family has been nice but still feels empty in the house. The chatrooms and cats have helped for company.
