Yes and No. Remember until you're old enough, your mom pretty much holds the deed on you. So, is she being grumpy, yes probably, but can she? Yes she can, and no, there is no such thing as a right to privacy. And yes you are keeping secrets.

Kids may never sleep through the night though around age 4 it stops being your problem. Bananas turn black and can't be removed from furniture or clothes (also cornflakes make some sort of super glue when combined with milk). You will be so sick you want to die but your toddler won't be sick at all! Your kid will eat sand, lick the playground, and err all manner of disgusting things. When they learn to talk the next step is talking back! For the electronic toys apply 1-5 layers of scotch tape, packing tape, or if they are really loud duct tape. Works like a charm. Hehe at least the toilet wasn't flushed ;-) with the cell phone -but you might want to buy a plumbing snake just in case. ======== Oh and that the threes are worse than the twos. And that woman with the kid throwing the tantrum who isn't "just leaving the store" isn't leaving because the kid is throwing a tantrum because they don't want to be shopping. So if she leaves they win and will throw tantrums all the time! When your toddler falls and has blood pouring everywhere they will be snuggling into you or nursing therefore there will be more blood on you than them. Your child will get a nosebleed in a store and be running away because they don't want you to wipe their nose... not that you have another tissue anyway. The new theme song to your sex life will be the fisher-price kick gym or baby swing =)) You can fit a DVD *under* the DVD tray and it will still go in. Honeycombs can fit into a computer case somehow even though all the vents are covered in a mesh that won't allow anything bigger than a pencil in. Hair spray gets permanent marker off the wall the first time, but it takes off some of the finish so nothing works the next time. You will be drenched in vomit more often then you can count. At some point your child will paint with their poop (or worse eat it... or even worse their baby brother will eat it)

I have never heard of a law like that but having gone thru a divorse with my parnets you are in one tuff spot .
What i'd do is go to the libary and use that computer for free and open a new email account if you want to have mail she does not inspect .
And don't forget you can download keyloggers and snoop software so she can run the program and see everything you did.
It's kind of sad two people can't get along and deside to take the kids hostage and play them like pawns for the He said She said games

I don't think there is a law, but if she is of a mind to, she could simply take the computer away or lock you out of the computer all-together with her own password, if she knows how. Seems she should know you well enough by your age to be able to trust you. You could change the settings to not save sent messages and you could delete new messages once you've read them. Hate to give you advice against your mom, but I can't imagine when I was your age being under so much control. Maybe times have changed, but IMO it's not for the better.

Your parents are responsible for you legally until you reach 18, therefore the law is on 'their side'. The computer was purchased by them; you live in their house. If you want to continue to use your computer, I'd suggest stop messing with the passwords.
What she's doing isn't necessarily right, but if you're not doing anything 'wrong' whats the big deal? My biggest question would be, "What are you trying to hide?"

I don't believe there is any law in those regards but she is paying for the Internet service and can cut you off if she wants to. Then you get no e-mail nor send any e-mail.

well you are considered a minor, and she can do that, there is nothing saying she can't. Look at it this way, with all the wackos on the internet today, she is looking out for you. And also being grumpy. When you get older and have kids you will understand.

she should be allowed to moniter your activities. safety is a parents responsibilty. she could turn off your service, put blockers on you or take away the computer. she has the right to take all your stuff.

give her access to the old e-mail account and get a new personal one, she will have no idea, you have a right to privacy even if the law will not protect you
