if you have a mac i think its easy, however i dont.

What I do is i use DVDshrink - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm. This allows me to rip the DVD so I have the "VOB" file on my pc. For full films this can take a while - approx 1 hr

I then use PSP video 9 - http://www.pspvideo9.com/ This allows me to convert the "VOB" file into MP4 - which can then play on my ipod. Its great, i have all my DVD's in my ipod library. However for full films this can also take about 40 mins so you need the time and patience for this. I'msure there must be better ways but atleast this is a start

Only problem with this is DVD shrink can be difficult if you have the computer skills of my dad but if you get stuck let me know and I can try to talk you through it. I showed my dad the other day and after a couple of run throughs he should have it sussed by now. But then, it is my dad we're talking about.

Also check out ebay - people are selling DVD's which approx 60 films already formatted for about £10
