Computers do slow up after time. It is not programmed to do that in any way. Follow my suggestions to clean it up.

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from Trendmicro. When I have tested it it takes some time to run it but it may be time well spent if it can fix any problems.

Download and run http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Download RegScrubXP--http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2048

Safely cleans junk out of the Windows 2000/XP system registry. All changes made to the registry are fully restorable to it's original condition. You can make an exclusion list of registry entries that RegScrubXP will not display as problems. You can sift through a list of file extensions, company names, run upon startup programs, Internet Explorer history, and uninstall programs to delete what you think is junk.

Though the PCs are coming with latest CPU and good amount of RAM still its seems to be slow bkas of inappropriate use, this means installing any all shareware that is not actually needed for your PC is 1st cause & 2nd is the browsing culture on the net this means clicking any stupid AD that tells you 'your PC is in danger do a check for 2 mins' like that which invites spyware & malware even trojans infection on your PC. If you ever feel that a new PC is slow then just take backup of your data on removable disk & format the Harddrive & re install the operating system & device drivers and install those software that is meant to you and you will see the PC really working fine for years.

No, it is USERS that make computers run slow, if you only ever used the software on it that was supplied it would never run slow, but you go onto the internet, visit sites, you download temp files, cookies, adware, spyware and a host of other internet files (99% of the time you don't know you are doing it) then you wonder why your PC is slow - DUH!!

try on an old PC, 'Restoring' the manufacturers cd, and then DO NOT go on the internet or load other software other than that supplied MS Works/ Office etc, it will not run slow.
