Jack Dempsey is a big fish, growing about 8-10". By size alone one should have at least a 40 gallon tank, and to share it with other cichlids at least 75.

Jack Dempsey is a very aggressive and territorial fish. It's very name, after the famous boxer, should at least hint at this fishes capabilities.

Gouramies and cichlids are not good companions, as even small cichlids become territorial and take over a good portion of the tank, which would result in a poor and stressful environment for the gouramis. Your best chance if you really insist on trying this would be with a mild specimen like a Ram or Keyhole cichlid, and only one so that breeding aggression doesn't become a concern.

Possible yes. Good no. The dempsey by himself will need more room than that. If you want a nice cichlid with a bit of agressiveness to go with your gouramis get a male and two female kribensis. They might chase the gouramis, but won't do any harm, and should breed even in a 20.

We had a Dempsey for several years...we added fish, snails, and even a blue lobster at one time...eventually everything in there dissapeared...except for the Dempsey...who seemed to be getting fatter...hmm. After numerous investigations..the case was closed with no evidence... the only suspect: the Dempsey, always had an smug innocent smile on his face...hmm.

Yes, it's possible but there's a chance your Jack will eat the gouramis

No! That tank is too small for dempseys anyways. They would kill your gouramis.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
