class A uses /8
B uses /16
C uses /24

so now
class A has 32-8 bits=24 bits left...there 2**24 will give that many MAX networks

class B has 32-16=16 lefts...therefore...2**16 is the max # of networks

You can do subneting to make max no of networks.
