TIME:
The dimension of the physical universe which orders the sequence of events at a given place; also, a designated instant in this sequence, such as the time of day, technically known as an epoch, or sometimes as an instant.
Time CANNOT BE ALTERED.
BUT FLOW OF TIME CAN BE ALTERED.
This phenomenon is called TIME DILATION...explainable by EINSTEIN'S theory of RELATIVITY

The concept of time in physics isn't much more complicated than our everyday notion if it. It's basically our way of describing the order in which events occur and how quickly things happen. In physics, due to the effects of relativity, it is convinient to describe time as "the fourth dimention" but this is mostly just a mathematical decription.
Often in science, especially in physics, such math descriptions are taken too far and over-analyzed by people trying to make them real world descriptions.
Time can be altered in a sense that two events that happen at the same time for one person may not happen at the same time for another. Lots of fun consequenses are possible because of this, but none of these effects are appearant in everyday life.

Pick up "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking, available in paper back at any good book store or your local library.
Extremely interesting and informative read.

Albert Einstein is often quoted as saying that time is what a clock measures.
not entirely sure that is of much help but it does go to show just how hard it is to come up with a decent defnition!

Time is a quantum aspect of space of minimum duration
It cannot be altered any more than quantum space can!

Time is figment of human imagination.
As many humans that exist (or existed or will exist), that many notions of time.
Time has contextual value and that makes it the "4th" dimension.
