On vacation like summer or Christmas I have dreams here and there that I'd miss class or be late. Or What am I doing here with family when I have classes to go to and I realized it's Christmas Break lol(in the dream)

Is that normal for a college student?

Boy, howdie!

I've not been a college student for over 20 years, and I STILL have those dreams now and then.

The Buffy episode Nightmares, where Buffy has a test for a class she's never been to -- ever see it? Classic. Had that so many times.

Yes, it's not at all uncommon to have such dreams.

I would be surprised at someone who never had a "should be in/have gone to class" dream.

I'm surprised you didn't have them when you were still in high school.

Usually, the things that occupy your mind during a day reoccur while dreaming, even if the message from that dream is different, or on the contrary, you dream something which isn't related to your day, but its interpretation relates to what's on your mind.

To explain better, take a busy day at school for example. You've been studying all day or had a lot of classes, get home tired and go straight to bed. You start dreaming about school, exams or people from that environment because those things remain in your subconscious due to the fact that you haven't yet been able to "disconnect" yourself from that "program".

Other times, you might dream something opposite or unrelated to your day or a recent event, but you realize in your dreams that even though you saw a bird for example, that bird is a member of your family (have you ever dreamed that?).

The genuine dreams are the ones that don't have any connection to any recent event, and those are the dreams that reveal actual content from your unconscious mind. Although it's extremely difficult to interpret those dreams, they are very valuable to better understand your personality and psyche.

Hahaha!! I have heavily had the very similar dream. your self description is likewise very such as mine. desires are frequently an expression of our inner maximum anxieties and insecurities. that is our options taking section in with a worst case difficulty, probably operating to gauge our emotional and psychological limitations. an instantaneous interpretation of the dream would ought to do with having thoughts of pressure about your self and performance. you'll nicely be a magnificent student, be praised with the help of instructors and friends about your performance yet deep down it is your thoughts of self doubt. The unpreparedness you experience interior the dream is a refection of ways you end up as inadequate and/or unprepared for the initiatives you're dealing with in existence. besides the indisputable fact that i favor to reassure you that this dream does not say that you're unprepared, basically that element of you believes that you're unprepared. Do you ever have a difficult time accepting praise? do you ever imagine that you're basically fooling each man or woman, that you at the on the spot are not extremely an excellent student? i'd experience this kind a at the same time as, and that extremely higher the prevalence of that sort of dream. actually the basically way you may ward off/decrease those desires is with the help of reminding your self that you're an excellent and sufficient student. You get the grades you do and the praise you do because you're an excellent student. you at the on the spot are not fooling all of us!! :)

It is not only normal, it persists beyond college; I obtained my master's degree in the mid-1990's and even now I occasionally have such dreams. But I think I overdosed on school....
