There is nothing more un-exciting then getting clothing for Christmas, and I dont care if it's abercrombie. If i have kids i will NEVER buy them clothes, for the love of... Go get them a wireless keyboard or something, ANYTHING, a playstation memory card, a linkin park cd, SOMETHING. This isn't the great depression this is about to be the year 2007. And sometimes the technology gift is less than the piece of clothing you would buy, especially when they are 50 dollar abercrombie shirts. Just make Christmas exciting, this is the worst Christmas I have ever had. I got like 8 boxes of clothing and the movie Lucky number slevin. I feel sick to my stomach this sucks SO bad, i HATE GETTING CLOTHING.

Next year, make up a DETAILED Christmas wish list. Make sure to be real specific (NAME the CDs, DVDs, video games, etc. and include stores where particular things are available -- always helpful; for clothing, state material, size and color/s if applicable). The list may not guarantee that you get anything on it, but at least no one will be able to say they really didn't know what you wanted or "thought" you'd really like this or that.
You could also suggest gift certificates (again citing the stores you prefer).
This is NOT cold and calculating. It is one sure way to avoid a lot of unwanted presents.
Don't forget: the spirit of Christmas is about giving as well as receiving. Make sure you act accordingly and try to tailor make presents for the recipients.
Happy New Year!
P.S. I liked Lucky Number Slevin (nice twists!).

I would love clothes for Christmas! I hate shopping so if someone gave them too me I'd be so happy. I even made a Christmas list and had clothes on there circled, but no such luck didn't really get any. We get pajamas every Christmas Eve and I really like those. I get tired of my presents after I open them so it would be great to have something I can actually use. I have a laptop so what good would a wireless keyboard do me, I don't have a playstation so what good would a memory card do me and I'm not a big fan of linkin park so I wouldn't want that. Although I can agree I wouldn't want Lucky Number Slevin.

I know lets trade you can have my: Sweet Home Alabama, Catch Me If You Can, Josh Groban's cd Awake, Cascada's cd Everythime We Touch, a Slushie machine, TMX, a stuffed animal, Jack Sparro poster, Lemonade Tycoon computer game, a bunch of candy, a voice recorder and a cat notebook. I am however keeping my Stargate Sg1 t-shirt I love it!

So I think parents just don't want to get us what we want, they aren't defaulting to clothes, because I never get any. Maybe they don't know what you like or they'd like clothes for Christmas. Maybe they are like me and wished they'd get clothes for Christmas as a kid. And people in the great depression wouldn't wear Abercrombie hehe. Or maybe it's only girls that want clothes and your Mom bought you those and boys want the tech 'cause my brothers got an xbox and playstation. Well I'm sorry you didn't have the best of Christmas', I've had ones like that.

Parents buy clothes for their kids because clothes are practical. They are aware that if you were to spend any money, you would spend it on other things and not get the clothes you need. I don't know how old you are, but if you are living away from home - they might not know what other things you have already and clothes are pretty safe bet; they can always be returned. It isn't easy to find gifts for someone else, especially when they have an attitude and never seem happy with anything.
You really aught to be appreciative that they got you anything. Appreiciation begets more appreciation. It's magical.
Christmas is a spirit of love and giving - not about getting and what you recieved. Try getting something for someone else and see how it makes you feel. It's a wonderful feeling - much better than opening a gift for yourself.

Get over yourself, have you never heard the saying "it's the thought that counts"? Your parents are doing their best for you because they love you, and with your attitude, maybe they felt you didn't really need any more electronic toys. They gave you what you needed, not necessarily what you wanted. Say thank you and be grateful.

I would also guess from your attitude that you have no clue what things cost these days and how hard your parents work for their money. You sound like a spoiled brat. Someday when you buy presents for your children, should you ever have any, some of those will be clothes, because there's only so much money to go around at the holidays, and kids need clothes.

Have you also never heard that the holidays are not just for getting stuff, but for celebrating Jesus' birth, sharing love with family and friends, and being thankful for what you have? I know you don't want to hear this, but there are many people in the world today who have NOTHING this holiday season!

This will not get me a best answer, but you needed to hear it. I hope you listen and take it to heart.

I didn't get any clothes. I would've loved a pair of pants, haha. The only clothes i got were socks & underwear. I got 2 mp3 players, one being an ipod, and some other cool stuff. I see where you're coming from though. Getting clothes does suck unless you just really need some and you're too poor to get it. Next year just make a list so they don't get clothes.

Not all parents do it. I believe parents would buy clothes for their young children because these children tend to outgrow their present clothes. Some, however, made it a habit to keep buying clothes to avoid thinking too much so they can focus on more important things like food, shelter, and education. Is this answer OK?

Because that's something you actually need. My workplace has sponsored poor families in which that is all the kids asked for even when asked "Are you SURE??" We bought them toys anyway but also lots of clothes. Imagine not having anything at all to wear.

You don't sound like you deserve anything. Maybe you should show some gratitude for how hard you parents had to work to get you that Abercrombie.

You can always donate your sickening presents to Goodwill. I am sure there are a couple of kids who would love to have your junk.
