Shannon is a unisex name. Guys and girls have both been given that name. Ashley is another one. Shannon is alright, but not a name I'd pick.

Shannon is a fantastic name. There aren't that many newbies named Shannon these days. And the name is really cool too. It isn't too old and it isn't too new. It is perfect for a little boy......or a girl. My advice is to use the spelling Shannnon (Taylor for a middle name) for a boy and the spelling Shanyn (Elisabeth for a middle name) for a girl. There are other ways to spell it too...

I like shannon and i guess because my name is shannon. in all reality the name is very common try something a little something more unique.

My sister in law and her hubby are both named Shannon and they considered naming their son Shannon but they opted for Cole Teague. It's a great name it means Small Wise One. =)

I love it, but only as a girl's name. I'm partial to it though, as my name is Shannon! :~) It's of irish origin meaning "wise one".
